First, Scarborough
We were more than a little
concerned to see this beached whale
stuck on the beach at Scarborough....
We needn't have worried,
as it turned out to be a training exercise
and not a real whale at all - certainly had us fooled.
A ride on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (from Whitby en route to Pickering).
The engine at Pickering.
Some stunning countryside on the journey.
Finally arriving back in Whitby.
This is Sandsend.
View looking towards Whitby (you can just see the Abbey on top of the cliff in the distance).

Back in Whitby, the swingbridge opens to let a yacht through.
And at the end of the day, we are treated to a beautiful sunset.
Someone really is sailing off into the sunset!
